I’ve added meditation to my daily piano practice (and to some of my teaching) in the last year, and I’m thinking it’s more and more important. For one thing, I stopped biting my nails for the first time in my life. Still, the two minutes I spend in silent meditation, though short by the clock, are almost never quiet in and of themselves. My mind spins and whirls, and I’m always surprised by how busy it is in there.
